About Ann Conte
Ann Conte has been teaching at the South Shore Art Center for 6 years. She is a graduate of Mass. College of Art and has explored a variety of mediums including fiber, paint, clay, and printmaking. Her vast range of knowledge has allowed her to develop children’s classes that are packed full of imaginative and exciting art projects.
Beyond the fun of creating with children, Ann believes that children’s art has a much deeper purpose—art allows children to become scientists, problem solvers and critical thinkers which helps them in all aspects of their education. Using their imaginations and creating their own work gives kids confidence in their abilities and allows them to express their feelings without judgment. The children are unaware of this, though, and are just having fun making their masterpieces. The smile on the child’s face when he/she shows off a masterpiece is the most satisfying feeling of all.
Ann resides in Hingham, MA and is a member of the 4th Floor Artist Studios at the E.T. Wright Building in Rockland, Ma, where she does her artwork and maintains a small picture framing operation.
